Shot a buck and a doe this past weekend with 100 gr Simmons Landsharks. Both died within sight. Both heart shots. Bloodtrails were minimal. Time to be a Rage pimp again!

The buck....

The doe...

I must admit that I put on a shooting exhibition.

Default Grim Reaper Damage

This is the exit at a hard quatering toward shot. The rib cage shot is the entrance and the hole in the hide is the exit which was exited the flank. 1 1/2" cut 100 grain. The only vital organ I hit was the liver which had a 2" gash through the center she only went 70 yards and died running I gave her 20 min before looking for her.

Default Yearling Doe

38 yard Hail Mary shot at this yearling doe this past Saturday morning. She spun toward me when I shot and the 125 gr. 1 3/4" cut Wasp Jakhammer caught her above the eye, entered top of the shoulder, severed the spine, and cut a few offside ribs. Complete pass through. Dead right there with a little flopping around at first.

I'm not crazy about shooting the little ones, but I needed some meat in the freezer and she's the only deer that's presented a shot so far this year.

Two blade rage at 22 yards out of my destroyer. Blew through her and she went 20 yards. Not much of a blood trail but when you see them fall, I guess it really doesn't matter.

Out of my bow I can swap the nap 2 blase BR, F15's and slick tricks out with my field points and they shoot the same....

the NAP is my go to broadhead these days and I have been really impressed with them....all the pro's of the rage and without the negatives (for me so far)

This was from my Shuttle T-Locks. I was skeptical at first because the ranch we went too did not allow mechanical broad heads, but after this weekend I don't mind shooting fixed blades as long as they are Shuttle T-Locks.

I posted this doe from last weekend but i guess it was lost in the mini-crash

This was the third broadhead out of the package and watched two does and a pig fall in sight. I am loving the 2 blade blood runners.

Blood trail that even I could follow.

I was pretty impressed with that Bloodrunner design until I shot an axis with one from 16 yards with my 70 pound DXT and caught the edge of the shoulder and it durn near stopped that arrow! I got about 8" of penetration. I've shot all manner of animal through the shoulder with the same bow and a good fixed blade and punched right through. Not sure what happened but didn't impress me at all.

Here is my arrow and used the Shuttle T-Lock. I just swapped arrows because I was going to stick a tree rat. But then I was surprised by the spike.

Do you think it would have gone through had it caught the shoulder solid instead of just edging it. Or did it make any differance?

Thumbs up

These are from my trip to D'Hanis last week.
All Rage 2 blades
All at 22-25 yards
No blood trailing needed (although I did follow the 30 yard bloodtrail of the last hog just for fun)

Photo 1 - Exit side of my first black&white spotted hog as I found it. (sorry no closeup)
Photo 2 - Entrance of the doe
Photo 3 - Exit of the doe
Photo 4 - Entrance of the second hog as I found her. (blood was just boiling out of her)

Photo 5 - Our bread theif in the cabin as I found it. That is a size 11 boot, and those are 6" tiles! It ate 1/2 a loaf of bread from the top of the fridge the night before.
