Depends on if that’s a trophy for your area IMO. What do the other bucks look like on your place?

Based on management plan where I primarily hunt, no.
For a first buck on a couple other properties I hunt possibly depending what else was on camera and what the neighbors are like.

1st bow buck? Yep. I'm taking two friends bowhunting this October and neither has killed a buck with their bow. I am encouraging them to shoot a nice buck even if he won't make Pope or B&C (we have neither on our small Llano property).

Our rule is don’t shoot anything smaller than your last “trophy buck”

If it's your dads first bow buck get him. If you killed several bow bucks let him grow up unless you have my neighbors. If your looking for your first P&Y buck he won't make it. Looks like a 2-3 year to me Good luck Dad.

5.4 million deer in TX. If that deer is a trophy to you or a loved one and you aren’t over harvesting the area than take that buck.
