I prefer blanco tequila for my margaritas, so here goes. A "part" can be whatever measurement you want...an ounce, a cup, a gallon:
1. 1 part blanco tequila (I prefer Milagro, Don Julio or Dos Armadillos. Ratchet up to Clase Azul for the smoothest of the smooth)
2. Slightly less than 1 part Cointreau*
3. Same amount of fresh-squeezed lime juice as Cointreau...I prefer limes that get to a yellowish color, as that lessens the need for agave for those who think normal limes are too tart.**
4. 1/4 part fresh-squeezed orange juice
*substitute Grand Marnier for a slightly less sweet flavor, or do 1/2 Cointreau and 1/2 Grand Marnier
**optional 1/4 squeeze of agave nectar if you are using greener, more tart limes
***smooth-skinned limes yield more juice than the bumpy skin limes
Pour over lots of large ice into shaker, and shake extremely well (ie, 40+ shakeweight shakes for you exercise buffs!). Serve up or serve over ice cubes. If you want to get really fancy, serve over ice spheres.
Also, I will occasionally sub reposado or even anejo (heaven forbid!) instead of blanco tequila for a different flavor.
Thank me later!Last edited by DimmitCo; 11-25-2020, 12:09 AM.

Grapefruit Margaritas:
Same recipe as above, with the following tweaks:
1. 1 part of fresh grapefruit juice
2. lower the fresh lime juice component to 1/2 part, instead of being an equal part to the Cointreau part
3. *Optional - after pouring shaker contents into the glass, add a little Topo Chico or Club Soda to taste

Don't laugh till you try it...
I don't have exact measurements like the rest of y'all refined people...
Muddle a Serrano pepper then mix in as much tequila as you like and Cucumber GATORAIDE and shake over ice and pour in a glass rimmed with tajin (or rim the glass with the Serrano and salt).
