    Carpal Tunnel relief???

I think I have developed it in right arm. Pain inside tricep area and hand goes to sleep. Pain is not bad but constant. Any relief? Don’t want to miss fishing time but may have to. I actually think it’s fishing that has done it

The big issue is my fingers get hard to use with the tingling and can’t tie knots. It does wake me up as well at night- Hoping someone has a home remedy

No home remedy if it's carpet funnel syndrome. And the longer you try anything other than surgery, the more nerve damage that's taking place. The surgery is super quick and easy, should be back to fishing in a week or so.

The triceps area pain may be unrelated if you indeed have CTS. Well it is possible to have upper arm pain associated with it, it is not common as the median nerve impingement is obviously at the wrist. Aspirin or Tylenol etc. may help some. Also a wrist splint, particularly at night, can help limit flexion and limit impingement. Although I could not envision casting with a splint, at least accurately, may give that a whirl to go more shoulders.

Given your tying woes, I assume it is the thumb index and middle finger?

RR. Yep those feel like they are going to sleep. The pain is just above the elbow and when I roll over the nerve I can tell. I have an appointment Friday but just wondered if there was anything in the mean time

if it's carpal tunnels the affected fingers would be the thumb, index, and middle finger.
The ring and little finger are affected by the ulna nerve in the elbow.
Not a doc , but have had plenty of these issues.

Another issue that could be in play is a pinched nerve in the cervical spine.

I consider it a “good” sign that thumb and index finger are involved. Very likely CTS. If just triceps and middle finger that would be a roadmap effectively pinpointing C7 nerve root impingement. Doctor may do an EMG to definitively rule stuff in/out. Get a cheap Velcro splint and see if that helps at night. Good luck!

Glen, there's a VERY GOOD hand surgeon here in the Houston area that I personally know he has fixed many of my friends and family. Plus my wife worked in the OR with him... He can do the fix with a new procedure that is an office visit and you'll be back at it in 7 days or less. I've seen it happen over and over again. If it's bad, it would require more than that, but sounds like you have caught this early. PM me and I'd be glad to send you his contact information. Don't put it off as it progresses and gets worse. Once fixed, you should be good to go.

Can I get the doctors contact? I had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands and cubical tunnel surgery on my right elbow. Now I’m starting to have a bit of discomfort from Dupuytren’s Contracture (growths limiting hand opening) in both hands. I used Dr Burke in Pearland before, but he’s not a hand specialist.

Use a wrist splint at night. I worked miracles for my hand numbness.

DMSO from tractor supply. Get it in the horse section by the vet supplies.

Carpal Tunnel is a ligament issue right above the palm. There is a test that passes current up the nerves that test how bad it is. I developed it when I was remodeling my house swinging hammers and crow bars. Wearing a metal wrist brace helped with sleeping.
I got the surgery (the invasive one) on both hands at the same time and cured my problems. I feel like I lost some grip strength that I never got back.
