$1.75-$2ish a square foot

Concrete would be $4.00ish per sq ft and you'll be a lot happier in the long run.

I am trying to figure out what to do myself, neighbor has a underground drainage problem that causes the base to wash out and causing sink holes under the asphalt

You could run a French drain along the problem area to funnel water away. Pain to do but might help with the issue.

Im sure location has alot to do with it. We are a little north of Houston. Quality asphalt contractors are RARE to find for smaller scale jobs.
