I flew into Wichita at noon today to meet up with my hunting buddies that have been here since last Wednesday. One of them shot a doe this morning, but it's been slow other than that. Should bust wide open in a day or 3. Hang on to your hats, we've got Killin to do.

Been in a tree for about 45 min and already came to full draw. Pretty blonde coyote wasn't worth boogering up my spot, she she lives another day and I put it down as another cool experience in the deer woods. We've got until Thanksgiving.

First time since 2013 that I’m not hunting Kansas.
My choice though. I bought points for me, Summer & Talen. Hoping to take them in 2023.

Had a good evening, no pictures, just took it all in. Had a button buck come in pretty early, then last 30 min had a pretty good buck bumping a doe around me. 1 good 4 pt side and a BIG fork on other.

If I'm not mistaken someone on here killed a coyote or bobcat one year and got a ticket for not having the proper license for that critter. It may be a good thing you didn't shoot it.

Same spot this morning. Pretty sure the doe that was with that buck last night was hot, and if there's a hot doe around, no reason for me not to be. It's 24* this morning and as still as I can ever remember in Kansas. When I walked in I could hear a deer freshening up a scrape by my stand. He couldn't see me so I just waited there until he moved b off before climbing in. Been quiet since, but it's way early.

Been watching a 170's looking 10 dog a doe since I pushed send on last reply. He's headed towards an empty stand, that had a hunter in it all day yesterday. Go figure. Think one of our hunters will be there this evening. Hard to get a good pic from 400 yards away with a 20 yr old video camera.

It's been a busy day, but I'm back at it. Got down for a wind switch, turned into grocery run, maintenance on buggy, trailing and skinning a doe a friend shot, to now back in a tree. New set on a choke point between a creek bank, cut corn, and big timber. I passed 4 or 5 fresh scrapes walking in. They're opening up everywhere. The big buck I saw this morning probably could have been shot from the stand I'm in. Saw another real big deer in this block of timber about 1/2 mile north of here around lunch today. Keith is at the railroad about a 3/4 of a mile south of me on same creek. He's where the big buck looked like he was headed. Anyhow, here's a few pics of my set.
