Cause it's a grab bag.
You get what you can pull out of it,
but you can only have one of each coin.

So, evidently, if shooting a longer yardage and you get a lesser coin value, then you can have that. Thinking it's not okay going the other way (can't get credit for quarter from 10 yards, for example). Seems fair to me.

This right, Richard?^^^

Either way, I got nothing again, but at least hit the same quadrant aiming at from 16.

Sorry for not clarifying on this one. It's pretty much a grab bag. I trust you folks enough not to shoot the quarter from dime range on purpose.

Richard.

Today was a miss. I went for the dime and veered into the nickel quadrant

Pouring down rain, so I guess yesterday was my last chance.

Still broke, but I'm heading south for warm temperatures, and sunshine early tomorrow.

I'll be thinking of y'all while I'm lounging on the sandy beaches, and drinkin margaritas.

Tried for the dime myself in this wind and missed it, wind had NOTHING to do with my miss. I jerked the release and just barely hit paper.

Always fix blame elsewhere...... Wind, cold, coreolis effect. Even if the wind didn't physically move your arrow, the fact that you suspected it might obviously influenced your subconscious, causing the release "adjustment".

Yeah, I was adjusting in case a strong left-to-right gust came up. Going for the dime. Zip, still.

Went back and looked through this thread and unless I missed something or in case Bitsch has something to point out that I missed, he's usually spot on, looks like Briar Friar won this one with a one cent shot.

Hope all of you that actually shot this challenge enjoyed it.

Richard

Yep, looks like Briar will take it, with his one-cent hit (which he was not even going for, LOL)

Was trying to figure out why this snookered us so badly. Couple possibilities come to mind: first, been some bad weather lately all over the state, cutting into practice opportunity -- plus hunting season; second, the challenge itself requires essentially one-inch target hits in all-or-nothing scoring; four spots makes the mental focus wander; finally, many of us chose to shoot for the highest value target -- the quarter -- which was also the farthest distance. Finally, we all stank.

TBH I'd thought that ya'll would have hit that quarter within the first two days and been chasing the other coins down to the wire for points. I didn't think it would be that tough considering how accurate you guys are. Sorry about that.

Nothing to be sorry about, Richard. We should have hit it. I was just tongue-in-cheek spit-balling a few excuses for our lameness. Oh, and I forgot to mention the coriolis effect.

And, it was fun!

“Bitsch” huh???? Well that was really first grade funny!

So, the FSC was started a long time ago with the intention of helping guys determine what they can do and to learn their limitations for hunting with their trad bows. Now it has morphed into something else that has nothing to do with that. Nowadays a guy just asks to be the shot caller when he didn’t win, or wins when he hits a spot 6” away from the one he was aiming at!!!

Yep, I guess I am just an old Bitsch!!!!

Y’all carry on!!!!

At first for me it was about challenging myself against the better shooters on here. Now when I participate it's just more the comradary.

Hot diggity dog!

Very well.

Next time at a 3D shoot and someone aims at the 10 ring but gets a 8. No balls...dont score it.

Good things can morph some and still be valuable for the original purpose, which is basically honing shooting skills in varying situations. This will, in turn, help hunting skills. Nothing wrong with an element of luck or having fun. It's a sport, it's supposed to be fun. Basically, I view the challenges as an excuse to get out and practice -- maybe trying some things that I might not ordinarily try but that are still fun and helpful to my shooting. If nothing else, a miss makes me take the scoring card down and shoot a bunch more to fix whatever form flaw is causing the miss.

Yeah, well you didn’t call me a b**** because you were still mad at me because I brought up an inconsistency in a classifieds ad you posted over a year ago!!!!

Anyway, it is what it is!

And Byron, I’ll gladly take that 8 in a 3D shoot, while at the same time not being happy with the shot!!! 3D is a game, and you get the most points you can while trying to win. Hunting is certainly no game, as a life is taken in the process. A LOT of 8’s on 3D targets would be lost critters in a hunting situation.

Honest Abe. Crap shot.

Sometimes aiming for a quarter and God gives a penny. Sometimes aiming for a heart and God gives a lung.

I relenquish the call for FSC51...if it was mine. Still yours Junkers.

Alright!! A little Trad Drama!

Moving along, if Briar wants to relinquish his Tiara to call Week 51 ... the next in line looks like Junkers' 3/4" quarter shot. It's the closest to an intended target -- ahead of my Day 1, 15/16" dime shot as well as Rick's similar distance quarter shot on Day 2.

So, call yourself, Richard .... note the importance of punctuation.

Ah! Sorry guys I've been in the garage changing out broken parts on the Jeep, still not done. To be honest I've got nothing in mind at the moment as I need to get my rig back up and running and still have some tasks to complete for work.

Can we open this one up to whoever has a challenge in mind?
