Let’s start a little early this year, I mean we are world champions again! Pitchers and catchers report to spring training in 2 weeks. Should be another great year. Hate to see Yuli go, but excited to see Jose Abreu take his place. He should have a monster year hitting in Minute Maid. New general manager Dana Brown from Atlanta should be a great addition. Hopefully he can get some extensions done like they did in Atlanta, namely Kyle Tucker. Everyone back, only question marks are backup catcher and for sure who will man centerfield. Of course JV is gone, but we should be in great shape as long as pitching stays fairly healthy. Seattle and Texas should be improved. LFG!

Did Yuli sign with someone yet? Last I heard there was still a slight chance he may stay.

Last I heard was Marlins were talking to him, but I don’t think anything is done yet. I think if they signed him it would eliminate the need for Hensley. They like Hensley and he would make the minimum salary. Yuli can play first, second, and third. Hensley also plays ss.

It’s between Twins and Stros for Yule from what I’ve read. Should be another great season.

Would love to have Yuli back, he could fill in for the others on their days off or vs lefty’s and still get lots of playing time. Maybe get 300+ AB

Love Yuli.....he brings energy and a bench presence...but listening to the new GM...they need catcher and center field help....doesnt sound good for him

he is fun to watch

He would make a great DH as well.
We could have used one in the post season

With Diaz gone who's the utility guy? Dubon? Yuli could fit there.

Backup catcher seems to be the most pressing need. Between Meyers, Chas, and Dubon, I think they can get CF covered. A true utility man would be great, hopefully Hensley can fill that role and we can send Dubon back to the minors lol. Anyway, I would not be surprised to see Framber win the Cy Young and either Yordan or Bregman to win MVP if they can stay healthy

They resigned Brantley. He and Alvarez should eat up all the left field and DH at bats. Diaz is gone so the thinking is Hensley takes that job. Abreu has Yuli’s job, so if Yuli was signed it would be at the expense of Hensley or Dubon at this point

Dubon is an infielder who has the arm for center field but he struggles to hit his own weight and he's a small guy. Maybe him and Hensley can fill the roll that Diaz had. Yuli's a better bat than both of them though.

DH is very full because Abreu should be getting some of those at bats as well. Yuli is really only viable defensively at a position other than 1b as an injury replacement. He isn't a defensive upgrade anywhere which makes it tough to carry him on the bench. Resigning him really limits roster flexibility.

Since they signed Abreu it became very unlikely. Signing Brantley was a killer.

I think Dubon sucks and doesn’t deserve a spot on roster. Dubon is making 1.4 million this year. How much does Yuli want, at least $5 million? Do you pay one of the last guys on your roster $5 million? I love Yuli and it ain’t my money. If Pedro Leon wasn’t hurt hopefully he would be the fifth outfielder and Dubon would be history. JJ Matajevic could also be in the mix as a backup first baseman/outfielder. Nice problem to have to pretty much have a set roster

My wife and some girlfriends went to Brunch last Sunday at a fancy hotel near The Galleria. A little baby at the table next to them kept blowing kisses to them so all the girls started blowing kisses back. Low and behold the couple and the baby were Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Correa, lol. They all said he was very kind and cool. One of the ladies told him they missed him. I told her they should have asked if he had the name a good masseuse 😁

Don’t sleep on them using Bryan (not José) Abreu in the rotation occasionally if need be. They apparently had some serious inquiries from other teams in the offseason and shot them down, quite possibly for this reason and in case Whitley keeps Whitley-ing.

Can’t do that he is just starting year 2 of a 5 year $85 million dollar extension. Guaranteed money. Also, Dubon played at 165 lbs last year. He reported to camp at 190 lbs. They told him to beef up, he said he ate so much he was sick of food. Time will tell if it helps him or not

I’m gonna go with No on Dubon lol.

Surprise on McCullers (just kidding). But I am disappointed Yordan is still dealing with his hand issue. That should have been resolved in the off-season. Remember when he had trouble with his knees and hesitated to do anything other than rest? It didn’t work, he had surgery and was awesome after he finally got them fixed. I hope he isn’t being stubborn about whatever issue he’s having with his hands too

I think they're keeping Dubon because he's the only guy that has the arm for center field. Meyers hasn't thrown well since he got hurt and McCormick has an average arm. Dubon is a valuable guy that just needs to hit better.

Is Wagner's son a pitcher? Wouldn't that be a big plus if he were a chip of the old block?!

Any opinions on the hitter/pitch clock?

Today’s game was played in 2 hr 6 min. I’m not a fan. Everything seems very rushed. I like the concept but I think they need to lengthen the time a bit and or provide a few timeouts for both the pitchers and hitters to collect their thoughts in critical moments. The nuances in baseball are what makes it appealing. It’s a thinking man’s game.

I think it should be a little longer also. Everything does seem rushed. 2 hr 6 min yesterday, first game 2 hr 33 minutes. Whitley gets the start on tv today. Should be interesting

We are set on GEAUX!!! We have not missed a home playoff game or world series game in the last 2 years. Looking forward to quite a few of the regular season homestands in 2023 also. Got a suite locked in for a game also.

On a minor league deal. No one would sign him to a major league deal. He’s invited to spring training so he could make the team. Good luck to LaPina!

My understanding is he will be on the major league roster day one. The Marlins have two pitchers who are on the 40 man roster that will be placed on the IR list for opening day thus opening a spot for Yuli. Of course I read it on the internet so it has to be true.
