Default What to mix Bourbon with?

I have been mixing my bourbon with caffeine/sugar free seven up lately. Trying to figure out something non carbonated to mix with. Don't need alot of sugar per the Doc!

Bitters, orange peel and large ice cube

Assuming you're not pouring Evan Williams or something

I like Makers, but Knob Creek 9 is my go to for sip'n...ran across a bottle of their 12yr & it's really good. Think I like it better than blanton's. Larceny is one to try.

If anyone is mixing then CB Jackson or Evan Williams is what they are getting.

Something my wife came up with...I thought she was nuts when she asked me to make her one, but if I mix it's with unsweet tea. It is kinda weird.

Buy the crystal light drops or myo drops and then mix with club soda or buy a soda stream if you like fizzy water.

This and a splash or orange bitters and a big square ice cube.

If you can’t do high dollar cherrie$ as a matter of principle, then a twist of orange peel lightly toasted to release oils.

Or

Just the big ice cube.

I like to let it sit a little before ingesting. Not sure why. Maybe the ice melts a little and takes some of the edge off? It just seems right if I let it sit a little.

One thing is for sure, if you try these cherries you will be ruined from ever using a different brand.

Doc said my blood pressure was not good. Asked if I drank. Told him yes. He asked what and how much. Told him you you really want to know? Told him 15-18 beers a night and that was during the week for the last 25 years. The look on his face was pretty messed up. He told me I needed to change my ways. He recommended bourbon mixed. I bought 4 half gallons of Tin Cup. Been mixing it with a little 7up but not worth a **** in my opinion.

a few questions/statements:
1) do you recycle? that's a ton of aluminum!
2) Holy carbs, Batman!
3) why drink so much?
4) Other than your blood pressure, what are the other vitals measuring?

Add the words and how to number 3 and what brand do you drink. 18 a night is like a $100 a week habit. That’s $400 a month.

Tin Cup is garbage. I assume you're not drinking one or two coming from 15-18 beers a night. If you're drinking a bunch of diet soda then you're pumping tons of aspartame in your body. Use regular soda and you're getting a ton of sugar. Drop the soda all together and mix with water if you need a mixer. But in reality if you're drinking a boat load day in day out cutting down on the booze will do you a ton more good than changing what you're mixing it with

I second this. I have found that drinking it neat makes me sip on it more. This allows me to 1. enjoy the drink more and 2. make each drink last significantly longer

Good bourbon should be treated better. Maybe add a ice cube or two.

Sometimes I squeeze a half clementine, lime wedge, and a little water with ice for a mixed concoction. Something for cheaper stuff.
