Frito pie??

I think in high school they used hormel giant cans heated in crockpots and served over Fritos in the bag split down the side not across the top. Don’t remember onions or cheese but they could have gotten cheese from nacho cheese can. I just remember it being good.
Now I’m not a big fan of the commercial canned chilis. Way to much filler. More carbs in chili than in the Fritos.
My wife spent some time in Ohio in the early 2000’s and she said they called Frito Pie Texas, Straw Hat up there.
