    Performance engine guys

I meant to ask my father in law about this engine but forgot. He has a 61 corvette in his shop and has been for 30 years. I saw this engine i his place and assumed it goes in that car. What I don’t get is the copper exhaust manifolds. Was this common for that car or is this likely out of something else?

I've worked on a lot of cars from 67 vettes on up but have never seen one with that setup. So I'm no help but good luck and let us know.

I believe it’s probably not a common set up
I’ve certainly never seen anything like it

Appears to me to be a marine type engine.

Hmmm, have not thought of that. I do recall seeing an old boat hull off in the trees ( east Tx so covered up pretty good) maybe it belongs to that thing

That's a new one for me too. I don't understand running exhaust thru heater hose and tied into cooling system. I hope you are able to figure it out.

Does that transmission have any type of selector? Or is it look like a single gear setup? Could confirm marine?

Pretty Sure to Definitely for a boat.
With the front mount and the gear box.
                      Small block Chevy.

Is it a Chris Craft boat? I bet its a 283- it might be of value to those that restore them. It might be worth checking into, I bet those exhaust manifolds are hard to find
