I love short barreled .308s for truck guns. A Zeiss 3-12 doesn’t sound very wieldy on a truck gun though.

I've been real happy with my Ruger American Predator 18". I bought it as beater/truck gun but it's so light and handy it goes on more hunts than my other premium guns.

30-06 remington

I agree. Ag...I thought you had it covered until you said you kept the 30-06 in the safe. IMO that is the only round/rifle in your arsenal that would ethically and effectively reach out past 400 yards for an elk or other hefty critter. You have no long distance hunting rifle with *** if the 06 stays in the safe.

30-06, 270, 7mm mauser, 7mm mag, 7mm stw, 300 win mag

Dust that 0-6 off, mount that scope and shoot it.

Very solid. Love my truck gun .243, it's a Rem model 7 (youth model) kills EVERYTHING and it's nice and compact.
