We were in Arizona for a few days over Christmas. Went to Grand Canyon one day (first day of government shutdown, so no park rangers on site). That's one BIG beautiful hole in the ground!
We hung around hoping for a cool sunset. Found a nice spot to wait near Desert View Watchtower. It was pretty cold, and it started getting a little foggy in the canyon as the sun got low. It all came together for a cool image. I've been tweaking it before sending it to print. Finally settled on this for the print.
