Ideas for Monarch/Salida CO trip in early May? Family and fly fishing.

I didn't pay attention to your dates. Yeah, May will not be good for fishing the river. With this year's heavy snow, it will probably be late July before the flows start to calm down enough for better fishing.

High mountain lakes may not be real accessible in May either, due to the snow and mud. Check with the guys at Ark Anglers. Ma6be they have access to some private smaller streams or lower elevation ponds that would be fishable when you're there.

Thanks Shane. We are going to be there May 3rd to May 9th. We will kee fingers crossed for a decent high mountain lake access.
