I was very excited about the hunt last night. Was sitting a new bait for the first time. Was supposed to be a west wind and after climbing into my lock on realized it changed to SE which was blowing straight to the bait. Tradslam and I texted and decided to leave when he shot his bear walking out. He has been working hard to get me my first bears. This is my first experience with hunting in Alaska and it is so different than Texas hunting. Nothing about it is easy. Just walking in and out is a workout. Last night was the first sit without seeing bears. My time is coming. The most intense and exciting hunting I have ever experienced.

Is it open to non residents or is it just resident only ?

Brown bear, goats, and sheep are job programs for guides in Alaska. The funny thing is that most of the guides themselves are non-residents.

I just spent the last couple days getting my truck as well as all my stuff dropped off in Seattle and bringing the rest in a week and a half. Can’t wait to be chasing bears all fall long.
