That'd be a tough lesson to learn there!

Not to hijack, but rather to join in the fun....

Apparently the deer have to face this from time to time, and learn pretty quickly. These are from last week. I get a kick out of it.

Had a few of these guys last year.

This year they are at several feeders and have easily doubled in numbers. Always at night.

They are legal game but I am not sure if porcupine fur coats are very popular!

I doubt it, but wouldn't one of those be a great conversation piece?

They're fairly easy to find as their feeding range is roughly 3-6 acres in summer/Fall and 13-16 acres in winter/early spring. Whats that mean? Simple, Look up! They're probably up in a tree very close to that feeder. I've found Porcupines as high up as 30 ft and as low as 6 feet.

I had no idea there were porcupines in TX and I have lived here 30 years!!!!!! I guess you really are never too old to learn something!!!!!!!!
Seriously, can you shoot one? They are not listed in the regs as game, varmint, feral or protected. I just see another archery target for practice!!!!!!
