Default Prayer warriors needed!
My FIL Robert Shaffer is scheduled for surgery this morning and could use all the prayers he can get. About 4 years ago he was diagnosed with cirrhosis of liver due to high iron in his blood and just recently his kidney function took a turn for the worse.
Although he had at least a half a dozen offers, unfortunately due to his age a live donor was not an option.
We got the call yesterday that they got a match for a liver and a kidney transplant. Apparently I can’t put into words how amazing this man is without crying like a little girl so I guess I’ll leave that part out

Thank y’all for all the prayers, please keep ‘em coming! I just spoke with the surgeon, liver transplant went really good! He will hang out in ICU tonight and the kidney transplant is scheduled for 8am

Prayers up! My BIL had kidney and pancreas transplants several years ago. At first, half of the family had alarms set to make sure he took all of the anti-rejection medications twice a day. It was definitely a life saving/changing operation.
