Pitch is lucky he didn’t get stomped. His team wasn’t in a rush to back him up and other team didn’t get much work in on him. Would love to know the lead up to this.

I bet that kid is regretting that move. I saw on Twitter that the batter called him a F bomb kitty cat between second and third. You can see the ump pointing at him telling the runner something (prob STFU). Even if true, you gotta keep your composure. **** talk back but don't do anything stupid. Middle brother played football with the Weatherford head coach Jeff Lightfoot. Tough dude and **** good baseball catcher too. Sounds like they will be disciplining the pitcher looking at the ESPN article.

He did - he was a heck of a linebacker/quarterback in high school. Went to play baseball at Lubbock Christian University out of high school and is now at Weatherford College (for the moment)

I've gotten my share of walk off hits and that is not the time to mouth of unless you're trying to start something. Even the one walk off homer I got, when the other team really could have used a butt whoopin, all I did was mean mug them as I went around the diamond. Ctom87 pitched that game too, and I'm pretty sure he talked all my trash for me hahaha. Good times.

The amount of endless Sh%T talking in these games is crazy. The batter flipped off the middle infielders and cursed at the pitcher a couple of times. The ole boy just snapped. I think a lot of it has to do with the zero tolerance rule that went into effect years ago. Ever since then more people have been running their mouth without fear of getting their butts kicked. That builds up and things like this happen. I'm not taking up the the pitcher, he hurt himself and his team by doing this.

yep. i have a son playing 14u and we go to several HS games a year, including rockwall v rockwall-heath, and it gets embarrassing. family members, girlfriends, even ex-girlfriends are not off limits and are usually a pretty hot topic, and what comes from the stands is even worse than the dugouts.

They are supposed to play a saturday double header against each other this weekend. My wife will be the adminstrator on duty. I might go with her to see if anything happens. I doubt it will though. Neither team seemed too interested in getting to physical other than that pitcher.

Didn't look like the batters teammates were in too big of a hurry to get there either. When I played Juco our coach told us that if there was a fight, he was going to get into it as well and there had better not be anyone behind him when he gets there.

They gave the pitcher a 4 game suspension, and the batter a 2 game suspension for taunting. They also suspended every player for NCTC that left the dugout or bullpen and stepped on the field for two games. So now NCTC doesn't have enough players to play the next two games vs Weatherford and it results in a forfeit. 4 Weatherford players and two coaches were suspended two games.

The umpire was yelling and pointing at the hitter. Obviously, not the best choice by the pitcher but the batter wasn’t innocent.

The coach is a customer of mine, the dude that hit the dinger was very vocal about MF'ing the pitcher as he rounded the bases...

Not an excuse, but I guess being told FU M'fer multiple times was more than he could stand...

I umpire High School and College baseball and the trash talking and disrespectfulness in the game has gotten out of hand. There are a number of great programs and players that handle themselves well and don't play into that kind of crap, but there are alot of players and programs that are out of control. As soon as the umpire (who you can see in the video getting on the player that hit the home run) heard the kid talking trash and cussing the pitcher, he should have dumped him. People that say this kind of stuff is part of the game, and that this type of stuff is to be expected and acceptable, are just flat wrong. I wish the rules committee would place a zero tolerance policy on the trash talking like they have on players leaving their positions and dugouts when conflict/fights breakout. At least at the amateur levels. The whole bat flipping crap is another sportsmanship issue; as well as, a safety issue. Players are flipping bats when they draw a walk now. It's not part of the game either. Players need to let their play speak for itself, and act like they've done it before. I love competition and players that play passionately, but smart mouth, disrespectful players are hard to tolerate.

Had they done that, then they would have all been suspended a possibly expelled. They are taught the rules on day 1. If they leave the dugout or bullpen then they are just as guilty. It looked like the pitcher had things under control anyway.
