With youth weekend only a few days away, its time to get this thing rolling.

PoPo and I scouted a handful of our places this past weekend and we found quite a few gobblers. Birds are still in their large flocks and holding to their daily patterns.

The season will be a little different this year though....I'll be coaching Kayden's soccer team and our first game is on Saturday the 26th

We won't be able to hunt as much as past years but we'll make the most of it!

I agree with Colton, love this thread! Clay, you and your family are the TBH turkey kings and congrats early on your upcoming success this weekend and the remainder of the season. I will be getting after them on my Menard pasture on 4/2!!

Had New Mexico and Colorado on the list this season but new job and Biden's gas prices are gonna keep me in Texas this season. Best of luck to all.

Been away a couple of years after getting off the lease in Victoria. Lord willing Im back in the turkey game. Lost my lease in the Mason/Menard area and Tony got me hooked up on a place in South Texas. First time on a lease down south ( have done javi hunts many times, but no lease ) and pretty excited.

Daaaaaaaang! Turkey season has officially started now! Coincidentally we are up here prepping for our opener on 4/2.

We won’t be traveling much…if at all

Probably a trip to East Texas and maybe a trip to my buddy’s place in the panhandle

Can't wait, season for us is still a ways out. They did a lot of clear cutting on our place this past year, not sure what it will do to the birds pattern. Our easterns are back on the rise after a few years of lower numbers, should be a great season!

I thought I knew which place we were hunting this weekend but now I’m not too sure

This place is holding at least 18 gobblers and the other spot has 12

Tomorrows weather won’t allow us to roost em so we may just flip a coin.

My little farm in LV has one big flock holding still with 3 gobblers and a heck of a Jake flock. Looking forward to the opener. Clay, we will have to meet up again this season.

My plans for this year have slowly been whittled down to almost nothing

. Between bachelor parties, weddings, and other completely unacceptable events scheduled during the best season of the year

, 2/3 of my weekends are shot. Gotta play the hand you're dealt though, so I'll make the most of it. Haven't scouted once but I know there's birds on a couple properties I hunt.

Finally got on a lease with a bunch of birds on it. Gonna be hard after them this season. Good luck to everyone getting after it. I’ve got to get one killed with my grandpa’s old .410 then it’s bow only from then out.

When no one makes a legit turkey decoy bag you build your own. Used a backpack harness from one of my duck decoy bags, bought some 500d cordura in mossy oak bottom land. Its roughly 28" wide and 32" tall. Placed a divider in the middle so my DSD decoys don't rub against each other. Sewed another compartment inside of it to hold my calls, drinks, snacks and other gear. Not the best pics, but this bag will hunt.

Front blew through New Braunfels and the temps dropped about 15 degrees...wind is supposed to be brutal until about midnight.

Plan today is to shut the computer off here in a little bit, load up, pick up the kids a few hours early from school, and then be in the country in time for some target practice.

I'll sneak away at dark to glass the roost trees and setup the blind

Are u using a strutter with fan? Breeder decoy on hen that you can move with string? Maybe some movement on deekes might help. If all else fails I'm sure the zimas will hit the spot
