If that deer was 9 pulse all of his molars would be worn to the gum line like his 4th molar is. The teeth show 6.

By the “book” you could make an argument for 7 on those teeth. But as we all should know by now, that book doesn’t mean squat. That deer was likely 8-12 years old.

I'd say 8/9. We normally see more wear on 10+

The deer in south Texas and in Mexico really show there teeth wear. I've hunted the hill country and west Texas most of my life and never seen a worn set of teeth till I started hunting Mexico. Maybe It's the brush they eat or maybe I never hunted a place were there are actually mature deer. One thing for sure if your lease is trying to shoot deer that are 6 pulse years old that fourth molar should be dished out. Unless the deer is a protine hog.

We shot this buck couple years ago and he looked old as dirt. Sent teeth off and came back 9. To me your deer looks about 7

Somewhere in elgato’s past post, he has pictures of a known 13 y/o from Mexico. They would make a good reference for comparison.
