    Generational Rifle

If you had to buy a new (not used or new to you) rifle as a generational rifle that is intended to be passed down to kids and grandkids, what rifle would you buy? And throw in caliber if you want as well.

I would probably buy a 270 Winchester Featherweight.

Sako 85 Classic or Delux. Any caliber but I would opt for a 7mm RM.

I intend my APR in 6.5cm to be a hand-down rifle.

I bought a Sako 85 Hunter 260 Rem as my generational/pass down rifle. Beautiful wood and craftmanship and shoots extremely well!

With a glossy leupold VXIII 2.5-8 I have always thought that was the classiest usable Texas whitetail rifle.

I’m about to buy my wife a Weatherby Camilla 7mm-08 so she can use it and then pass it down to our daughter when she gets old enough.

I'm have been extremely happy with my Model 7 CDL in .308. probably one of the most hunted with guns I own. I buy a new one.

Winchester M70 Featherweight was my thinking also. I have it in 3006, but for passing it down I guess 270 would be a good choice.

Browning xbolt white gold medallion with the maple stock and octagon stainless barrel! Man I need one of those! I would probably go for 308 or 22-250

If not a custom, it would be a Weatherby Mark V Deluxe in 257 WBY.

A rifle like that needs to be walnut and steel chambered in a reasonable cartridge
