You have malnourished snakes in your area. As skinny as that snake is, I would not think water moccasin, looking at the length and diameter of the body, but there is no question with that head. A moccasin of that length would normally be a lot thicker.

I’m not sure how many varieties of venomous water moccasins there actually are but this one definately fits in the category. I grew up in rice fields and have no idea how many cotton mouths I’ve killed. Ours were shorter and stubby hence the name Stub Tail Cotton Mouth. When pizzed off they smell just like a skunk. And when taken by surprise by one I smell just like a Porta Can.
