FieldView app says we've had 4.7" since midnight at our place. 7-8" is a BUNCH!

lcra hydromet had clyde around 6" and Coleman over 7", heckuva a way to round out august. Forecast for dove opener doens't look too bad either, with highs of 90 and lows of 70 for Albany. I'll take that every year!

East of 283, 15 miles north of Coleman my game cameras showed tons of water standing by the feeders. Lots of deer movement though.

Headed out in a week to pull cameras for first time since a majority of the deer have rubbed out, so hopefully a few new bucks will be on camera. With Ida going east, its dried out the 10 day forecast nicely and looks like we wont get the normal day or two before the season rain storms that move the birds out.
Unfortunately won't make it out for the dove opener but will be giving it a shot north of Sealy. Good luck to everyone and I'll make sure to post up some deer pics when we return from Labor Day.

                            N Callahan, off 310, nothing.

Although I do hear some occasional shooting.

we killed more rattlesnakes than dove this weekend, easily the fewest birds ive ever seen out there. we are between albany and baird. on a positive note, the body size on our deer is the best ive ever seen it for this time of year...

Did not see many dove near Moran this wknd. As stated, deer are in the best shape we've ever seen. Our bucks look pregnant right now.
