Wow, I am surprised the amount of pecan pie.

The pecan tree became the Texas state tree in 1919. In 2001 pecans were declared the official health nut of Texas. And in 2013 pecan pie was named the state's official dessert. So yeah, we Texans kinda dote on our pecans.
