Thought some of you all might be interested in seeing a little railroad history.
The 4014, Big Boy steam engine will be coming through parts of Texas.
It is very impressive and worth going to see.
If you're up in Southern Wyoming right now it will be making it down the rails starting Friday and will stop in most railroad towns along I-80 roughly.

Kinda hard to tell from the map if its going through Rosenberg Tx to get to Houston? If so it will be going by my back yard.

Not sure how the railroad security will be down there but up here in the small towns you could literally touch it and get right next to it for pics.
Find a low key crossing and put some coins on the track for it to smash.

If you live between San Antonio and Houston, it’s coming through tomorrow. After that, it leaves Houston on Friday. Then goes up through Spring, Navasota, Hearn, Bryan, Palestine then up to Arkansas. If you have kids, you should take them. Very cool experience.

The schedule for tomorrow. I just looked it up an hour ago. I have been seeing the pictures and videos from the past two days, from west Texas. It's in San Antonio tonight, Houston tomorrow night.

I have not seen anyone post up that info on the trail. I have seen many pictures and videos, it's huge. I would not have guessed 1.2 million pounds.

Suppose to come thru Hearne Sat, switch tracks and on into Franklin. I believe my wife said in Franklin around 9:30 in the morning. I won't see it. I will be at work. They kinda frown on the supervisor leaving!!

The blue diesel (4141) is being escorted to the Bush (41) Presidential Library.

It was awesome, I felt the rumble in the ground beneath my feet as Big Boy got closer. Immediately I was taken back to Willis in 1974 where we lived next to the tracks. When we would feel the trains coming me and my little brother would rush to the door and watch them pass by.
