    "AND HE DEPARTED"

    (Weekly Reading>>Genesis 28:10-32:3, Hosea 11:7-12:12, John 1:43-51)

The Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven

When mankind receives the Gospel, Yeshua’s life in man gives him heavenly discernment and understanding to the realms of His Kingdom. The Gospel or His Word contains commandments/principles of which many pertain to Israel living outside the land. It is these instructions that build Yahweh’s Kingdom. They are called keys to the Kingdom of Heaven. The requirement for those living and serving in His Kingdom is that they come know these realms and walk in them.

James 1:22-25 “But be doers of the word [the Gospel], and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”

Romans 2:13 "For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous."

The keys of Yeshua’s heavenly Kingdom are to choose life; to walk in clean, not unclean; holy not unholy, and to keep His Sabbaths, Feast days/ moedim and New Moon/Rosh Chodesh celebrations (Ezekiel 44).

When believers freely walk in covenant, meeting with Yeshua at the altar of offering /the Place, the adversary must declare himself. If we walk in Yeshua’s principles as outlined in His Gospel, He will be our advocate and our defense. Thus the altar of offering is both the place of death where the enemy is defeated and the place of resurrection. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob all defeated their adversaries ‘within’ themselves at the Rock – and resurrected as mighty men of God.

Genesis 22:17 “In the giving of the covenant to Abraham, Yahweh declared ‘blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.’”

The firstborn is a believer who is walking in Yahweh’s teaching and instruction and is one who has laid down his/her life at the altar (died to self – to all that had blocked and separated them from Yeshua’s life). It is these believers who will have their lives redeemed anew. No enemy/accuser of the brethren will be able to stand when a believer walks in Yeshua’s righteousness Gospel, as the Redeemed literally hold the keys of the kingdom of heaven. To learn about these keys or realms of the Kingdom we must look into the instruction manual He authored and gave to His people.

    Binding and Loosing

A child of Yahweh who walks in obedience to the teaching and instruction of the Gospel is in Hebrew understanding considered to be walking in Torah as they are one in the same. According to Scripture, if we honor His Word [Olam Haba], this binds/forbids the enemy. If we miss the mark or walk outside Yeshua’s Kingdom such as entertaining bitterness, envy or accusation [Olam Hazeh], this looses the enemy and gives him authority to come toward us. Obedience to Yahweh’s Word brings the blessings, which binds the enemy.

In Matthew 16:18-19, Yeshua appointed Peter overseer of the keys of the Gospel to His Heavenly Kingdom on earth. Peter was commissioned to teach what each key represented, what they unlock, what they are used for, and why they are important to act out in the believer’s life (John 21:15-17).

Matthew 16:18-19 “And I [Yeshua] also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock [the Gospel] I will build My church/ekklesia, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

The rock Yeshua was speaking of when he said, “on this rock I will build my ekklesia” (assembly), was not about Peter, but about those who seek Yeshua’s Word. It is to these people who will build their lives on The Rock that the keys to His Kingdom are given. Yeshua’s word is The Rock we are to build on, it is the foundation. The patriarch’s are as examples. Yeshua has given us the keys and all the building plans we need. They are written about in His Torah (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy) and confirmed in the New Testament/Brit Chadasha (Ezekiel 43:10-12; Matthew 6:33; Matthew 7:24-27; Acts 15:1- 31; 1 Corinthians 3:9-17).

The Tree of Life or the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil

There is a difference between the two trees: The Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. One brings life and the other brings death. One is life in the Spirit of Yahweh in the Heavenly nature (Olam Haba) and the other is life of the common world open to sin (Olam Hazeh). Both will always be in our life, as they were in the midst of the Garden, Yahweh has purpose in them in that we must choose each day which we will serve: life or death.

If we, as believers in Yeshua, still have unclean characteristics operating in our lives such as sexual immorality, impurity, debauchery; idolatry witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, envy and drunkenness, malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy or slanderous talk, they reveal we have not believed in His word/covenant nor met Him at the altar as we have yet to obey Him and allow Messiah to rule and reign in our hearts. These characteristics belong to the realm that brings death (The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil). We are told to take these unclean characteristics and behaviors off as they bind us to the enemy. We need to be set free by taking responsibility for these iniquities and/or transgressions (sins), by repenting and allowing the Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh to circumcise and renew our hearts (Galatians 5:19-21; 1 Peter 2:1).

We are to put on that which brings life (The Tree of Life). When we offer our lives as a living sacrifice the fruit of the Spirit will be the evidence operating in our lives. The characteristics of Spirit Life in us are,

“Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law [no lawlessness]. And those who are Messiah’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires [that war inside against our spirits]. If we live in the Spirit [of Yahweh], let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another” (Galatians 5:22-26).

By this fruit we know we have surrendered our life to Yeshua.

Hebrews 6:4-6 “For it is impossible for those [believers] who were once enlightened [walked in the realms of Yeshua’s Kingdom/Covenant], and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, [that] if they fall away [habitually sin/eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil], to renew them [self] again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.”

•Being in Messiah (Yeshua) means we are obedient to walking in His Word.

•Being in Yeshua also means we too, are called living stones.

Christians have stumbled over the written Torah, while Jews have stumbled over the Living Torah. Both brothers have committed the same offense, while pointing to the speck in the others eye we fail to remove the plank from our own eye. Believers are coming to know and understand Who Torah is, and as we do we become one new man in Him (Yeshua) as the prophets have declared.

Ephesians 2:13-20 “But now in Yeshua Messiah you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Yeshua. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two [two groups: House of Judah and the House of Israel], thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of, Yahweh having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Yeshua, Messiah Himself being the chief cornerstone.”
