Cash account is actually positive. Was expecting to give back some of yesterday’s gainz. Roth and traditional IRA’s are down a bit, but have some longer term plays in them that are still up significantly and were due for a pullback. May add if they continue to weaken. 2021 is the year of value investing and fundamentals over hype and FOMO.

Anyone know anything about LI Auto? EV Company in China supposed to report earnings tomorrow. It seems like EV stocks should do well in the next 10 years or so if half of what they are saying is true about the future of the auto industry.

All the EV stuff feels like the .com bubble of the 90’s. There will be some winners, but I imagine way more losers. I don’t have the patience to try to sort winners from losers and would probably just wait for Tesla to pullback 40% or more. Or hell, go long Ford. It’s had quite the run up as well, but nothing like Tesla and they are working hard to electrify their lineup. Better yet, just go long the commodities necessary to produce electric vehicles.

The EV market took a 15-20% hit in the last week.

I own some NIO, alot of tesla and some other small EV options. I think with the president, and their lunatic push it will do well just like weed stocks.

The commodities and battery options are intriguing to me, investment wise

Oil will go higher. This bull market is just getting started. Companies that survived the negative oil prices of April 2020 are leaner than ever and focused on reducing debt and returning cash to shareholders over increasing capex. The developing world doesn't give a **** about green energy. They'll burn whatever is cheapest to satisfy their growing energy needs. Midstream is another great place to be as the feds aren't going to allow new pipelines to be built, which will give pricing power to existing pipeline operators. Plus, they pay some good divys. Tech was the place to be the last decade. There will be a big money rotation out of the nasdaq into value stocks and commodities.

Actually this is the little guys sticking it to the hedge funds that keep shorting this and other stocks. Jump on Reddit, they are pushing to hold so HF lose on shorts and are forced to buy to minimize losses.

I hope I’m right and you’re wrong.
The big loss last year was mostly due to huge write downs on a lot of the companies they had previously purchased if I recall correctly. Their technology is second to none and will play a critical role moving forward IMO.
At the end of the day they are all just educated bets. I’ve been wrong before and likely will be again.

I would make it easy on yourself and start with some good ETF index funds (ITOT, IVV, IJH, IJR). All those I just listed have been good to me. They won't produce the potentially large immediate returns that stocks can, but they won't have the same potential large-scale losses either.

I’m long AM and RTLR. Smaller players with higher risk but higher upside potential. ENB is solid as well

I don't suspect many of my holdings correcting below my current cost basis, but would be good to lock in some profit and have a little cash on hand. of course, when the fed steps in to stop the bleeding, it's going to send commodities to the stratosphere.

uranium is just another commodity to protect against inflationary pressures. I also think we're going to need an increase in nuclear power if the developed world does transition to electric vehicles. solar panels and windmills aren't going to cut it.

China is hoarding the hell out of gold. It's really the only asset class that hasn't done much since the vaccine news hit. My major concern is all of the dollars abroad held in treasuries by foreigners coming back home and being used to buy up land, resources, etc. How long can we ride the coat tails of our reserve currency status as other nations and holder of our debt watch our central bank monetize our government's budget shortfalls?

Failed 7 year treasury auction for starters and rising interest rates. Nobody wants to buy our debt but the Fed (which is going to be forced to step in, it's just a matter of when that happens). Could get very ugly for people in overvalued hype stocks as the tech bubble unwinds.
