As many of you have mentioned in previous threads, the target bucks we were hoping for this year eluded our best efforts. Now that the late doe/spike season is in full swing in north Texas, it's time to fill the freezer. Got my quartering away shot yesterday afternoon on a doe at 17 yards. She broke into a dead run, and crashed after what couldn't have been more than 5 seconds. It's always nice to see your quarry drop in sight! Especially, when you are red/green color blind, like I am. That really makes for some challenging blood trails. I got out of the blind and found the front 3/4 of my broken arrow. The rest was recovered upon gutting her. Here's a few pics to show why I was lucky enough that this doe only went 60 yards. Good luck to all my fellow freezer fillers!!!
