It will be interesting to see if the insurance companies file suit against ercot
If they would have properly rolled the blackouts most of the busted pipes wouldn’t have happened.

Doubt it.
I know where I work, ercot tells us when or if we can take a de-rate on a unit to work on a piece of equipment that requires to bring load down. Sometimes they have no choice, like if a mill goes off line. They also approves our outage schedule, which is coming up in March. I have also seen ERCOT push outages back, due to severe weather. Anytime we have to de-rate, control room has to call them first.
