    Epoxy TX

Had some time on my hands and decided to make an end table top for a Metal base I had laying around. Top is pine with inlayed epoxy.

Beautiful stuff. How did you get the thin black outline on the state border?

No outline, looks black but it is just how the blue epoxy cured.

For my project I am thinking I could use a paintbrush to get a thin black outline... Thanks for showing it off. Looks great.

Would be cool to see some start to finish pics. How do you put the star in?

I drew in the Texas and used my router to cut in the shape. Then poured the Blue epoxy in and let it fully cure. Then I drew in the star and used the router to cut that in. Let that fully cure and started sanding, 120 grit, 150 grit, 180 grit, 220 grit, 320 grit, 400 grit, 600 grit. Lastly I put 5 coats of Arm-R-Seal oil and urethane top coat on with sanding in between coats with 1800 - 3200 grit.

Looks great! Nice lines for freehanding, hell nice lines for using a template.

                  What epoxy?

I believe it is called East Coast epoxy. 1 to 1 ratio mix.

                        That's ironic.
