What do yall think is best here in Texas when it gets cold?

Layers and merino wool

Multiple thin layers with fleece pants & jacket always worked well for me in the northern part of the state.

Never used heated clothing, but my Sitka gear (Stratus) keeps me plenty warm with quality under layers.

I have a bunch of First Lite layers and one Sitka Fanatic Lite jacket. I just bought a heated vest, but have not gotten it yet. I’m sure I will love the vest. I HATE cold. So much so, I wear long johns often when it is 60* out!

Sitka and first lite are mostly made for active hunting .. hiking in to hunt etc.. They are made to breathe.. merino wool under layers are great. I also like fleece.

The guys who say it doesn't get cold in Texas must be talking about in their living room.
When it's in the teens and the wind is blowing I consider it cold. Probably because of the sleet and ice. And I can still sit hours on stand with Stka Fanatic gear.

I’ve hunted multiple times in Texas with a wind chill below zero. That’s cold to me lol.

Sitka is great. Warning. Low 20s and wearing incinerator gear may give you heat stroke
