    Vegas during COVID

The wife and will be in Vegas in a few weeks and I’m wondering how the Las Vegas strip is during all this crap. Has anyone been recently? This is not my first time to go but I’m not sure what is open/closed.

We went less than a year ago. Most things were opening up even then. I know UFC just scheduled a July fight with a sold out arena, so they must be trending in a good direction.

It was definitely different, but still a great time.

Just got back from there on 4/20. Don't go yet, the mask police are out in full force. Casino's were not packed at all. You have to wear mask at all times, even after taking a drink. Golf was the most fun part. Freemont street was packed as usual, but the strip was dead.

I’ve been twice this year. The mask thing is inside. Outside your choice. A little more expensive toe gamble since they have lost a lot of money. Only a few salvoes running. Clubs were opening back up but not my scene. For what it is I had fun both times. Definitely not as fun as pre covid but still had a good time.

I went last weekend and the strip and Freemont were both packed. You have to make a reservation to eat anywhere. Gota wear a mask in the casino unless your drinking. Other than wearing a mask in the casino it seemed fairly normal IMO

Ellis island also has a good breakfast that is normally priced and $5 dollar blackjack and roulette when I was there last weekend.

We went in late March to Freemont, had a blast. They said everything would be open May 1st, don't know if that is true, but that is what all our Uber drivers said

Heard some less than stellar feedback not long ago from a buddy. Crowded hotels, limited playing tables and extremely under staffed throughout, especially restaurants.

I was there during the peak of covid and had the place to myself. Food was a challenge at times, but my regular places were open for take out. Also, no mask were required at the pools. That seemed like the only normal part about the trip.

It depends on what you go to Vegas for.

If you go to gamble it is pretty much the same except less crowded. Each casino is a little different, the Bellagio has barriers between each crap player while the Golden Nugget is a free for all with only the dealer having a barrier. Old Vegas is pretty crowded while the strip is just now starting to get energy.

If you go for the pools, food and shows -
Pools are open but just now starting to be a hot spot
Food at your high end places and chains are open but most buffets are not.
Shows are very limited but are starting to pick up.

I go to gamble, so it was fine back in March.

Keep us posted when you get back solo. I would be interested to see how it goes. We are going in June

Been there twice since covid. You pretty much have to get a reservation for eating in restruants. Wear a mask in the hotel and casino. Still no shows open which we don't go to anyways. Life's short if you want to go go. If you wait for fauci to say it's ok you'll never get there.
