Had a good opener today.

Got up close and personal with a young bull moose (about 10 yards).

Had a bull coming in, but the wind did a 180 and he left the country.

Had another elk come in behind the trees I was at, but wouldn't come around. It would bark, I would call, it would come in. Did that 3 or 4 times before it finally moved off.

Got another bull to torch off, but he didn't wanna play.

All in all, a good opening morning.

Went out again this morning. Get drenched again, but did get within 80 yards of a herd bull. No way to close the distance with it being wide open between us. Did see the little moose again and got to play with a spike. Called him into about 6 feet. Lucky for him I can't shoot spikes in thi unit. [emoji23][emoji1787][emoji23]
