Ranch Name

Finally bought some " Recreational Land " for The Family . We want to " Name " the land . I was wondering if there is a process of registering a ranch name and if anyone has ever done it ? Thanks . . .

I believe your required to name it if there’s a exemption. I’d recommend starting the process whether it’s wildlife, agriculture, timber etc to capitalize on tax savings.

Only reason to register it would be if you were doing business on it and wanted to dba it. Good luck with picking a name.

Nope no need to do anything but give it a name...

Our place North of Weatherford is ag exempt and its in my name but also on the paperwork it states the name of the Ranch.

As far as a name it is a blend of first initials and a single number with 2 meanings we got creative but made a nice brand. The other Ranch was named after a creek that runs through it along with our Brand.

It's 130 acres . I'm not sure what the difference qualifiers might be to classify as a ranch or a farm ? We have a gentleman who leases from us to run cattle part of the year .
