I am currently shooting a Mathews Drenalin but have an itch to get something new. I'm not loyal to brands but I do like my Drenalin so Mathews might be a front runner but not by much. Has technology drastically changed since my Drenalin was made to see a noticeable difference to justify getting a new one? Narrowed my search to Prime Nexus (2 or 4), Mathews V3 (29 or 31), and Elite Enkore. I'd go and test them out but I am not even close to a good bow shop.

I don’t know the Drenalin that well, but the tunability (via their SET feature) of the EnKore and customization (1/4” draw length, string & limb stops) were game changers to me. I actually prefer the draw cycle of the Remedy and Kure, but that’s a personal preference. I’d throw their new EnVision in the discussion for sure because it may be the quietest of their offering. Shoot them and see what you think. A lot will depend on your string angle for your draw length. These bows today are pretty awesome.

I went to the more modern bows and gave them a two or three year test run. I did not find them more forgiving. I had a Halon 6, Halon 7, and a Hoyt RX3. The best that I can say for the Halon was that it sure was quiet. The RX3 just never impressed me. Heavy, odd shaped and clumsy to carry in the field. I went back to a Drenalin and recently picked up a Bowtech Destroyer 350. The Bowtechs are known for excellent performance but the limbs blow up. I fixed that problem by putting a new set of Barnsdale limbs on. There is a lot to like about that bow. Funny thing is, both of my bows are not split limb and the Bowtech weighs a half a pound less than the Halon.
