Good luck when you go! Iíve been trying to get back down this week myself. I hit east last Thursday evening when that storm was rolling in and it got pretty western crossing the bay. Got there about an hour later than we wanted to and only managed a couple of keeper trout and a bunch of 17-19.5Ē reds

Just got my first falcon coastal rod and have really enjoyed it, caught two nice slot reds with it last month. Anybody have a source that sells any used falcon rods, would like to get a couple more for the family

I used that rod all last summer and it is a beast, reds and trout donít stand a chance. Also played around offshore and landed some nice Kingfish and Bonita. Goal for that rod this summer is to pull a red snapper off the rigs. 115 feet down and itís gonna be a challenge, lol. Got recommended by a buddy to h&h fishing rods, going to buy a wader light and test out this summer on a 13 fishing origin tx!

How do you like the fishstix? I cant justify the price when my 90 dollar falcon does everything I need and more with ease. I do love the look of them though

Youíre really going to like the H&H wader lite! It makes a UGE difference if you go from something fairly heavy to it. Iíve been using them for a while, I have a couple of wader lites, a coupe of EWX and a back country. My wife and son have the spinning reel EWXs

Iím gonna Make a trip to roys in corpus when I get the chance, want to get a feel for them before I buy. If I like the new baitcast combo Iím gonna buy and the rod performs well I might get a spinning rod and a shimano for it.

So far I really like them, they are light and feel great. I bought the at the bot show buy one get one 1/2 off.

Iím going to get a spinning rod for the wife at the fishing show in March because I have $70 off with my fishstix bucks.

One has a lews on it and one has a 13 fishing inception.

Iíve been a braid guy for many years. Plain olí power pro. The strength and sensitivity compared to mono makes all the difference to me. I can tell you what kind of bottom it is with braid.

I use green braid, have used power pro 20 lb and daiwa j braid 20 lb with good results. This year Iíll be trying out fins windtamer to see what the fuss is all about. You get way more feel and better action with braid. Throw some on and you can feel every little thing your lure is doing underwater.

It is respool day!!! I actually enjoy restringing my reels. I use the same technique today as I did twenty plus years ago (except I used mono then instead of fluorocarbon).

For all my inshore rigs I start with a 30-50 yard Yo-Zuri Hybrid 20# backer. Then I spool with 15 or 20# Hercules 8-strand braid and finish it off with a 3í 20# Yo-Zuri fluorocarbon leader. All knots are FG.

By the way, I am not sponsored by either company. I purchased these lines at retail and continue to use them because they perform great! The Hercules braid is very reasonably priced and is as good or better than the big name brands!!! How do you string your reels?

I buy the Hercules Braid from China. Takes a while to get here, but its been great quality the last few years. Have it on all my rods in either 10 or 15# I think I read it is the same factory as spiderwire.

I used spiderwire stealth before that and never had an issue. Also have Power Pro 20# Lake Charles Tackle spooled on a new reel for me and it has been great as well.

Was typing my reply, page refreshed and saw your post. I also love the Hercules braid. I use the camo. I don't care what the fish think, it looks cool.

And the Blue camo braid looks pretty sweet as guide wrapping thread..

Had a great time with Marshhunter and Panhandlehunter but the fish did not cooperate. The fog was a PITA, but the conditions were really good.

I hooked what im sure was a small red, but he got off and Phillip hooked into a real nice speck, 25 or so but she was able to spit the hook.

We did kill a few beers though. Good times fellas, we will do it again.

Had a dang good time! I had landed a dink trout and missed couple bites that afternoon near palacios. Luckily the fog had lifted for the most part by then.

I had plans to fish this morning, but the front coming through nixed those plans. Oh well, Iíll be back down in two weeks. Planning to hunt for the redfish!
