Lost a great dog yesterday

I got a call at work yesterday from my stepdad who’d gone to the house to feed my dogs. He found my 13-year-old mutt laying in the hall in her own mess, barely able to lift her head. I rushed home, assuming she’d hurt her back, as it has been bothering her for a couple of weeks, but when I got there it was clear she was on her way out. It was awful to see, but I was glad I was able to be there and comfort her as she took her last breaths. Anyone who owns dogs knows how tough it is to lose one, and she was a special girl. Please pray for my family, especially my wife and daughters, who were thankfully not there to see her go, but are heartbroken.

I’m sorry to hear about this. 13yrs is a good run, but it’s never long enough for us. They bring the most happiness into our lives and the worst sadness when they go.
