Not engaging is what is taught in the CDL class. Most of the folks who have their CDL are non LE and get the license for personal protection, not to engage an aggressive active shooter with a semi auto long rifle.

To get home to your family...without training & encouragement to stop the threat you could have multiple gun owners thinking every party is the active shooter. It's simply not a cut & dry issue.

I confess it is getting hard to read some of it. Heck the assassinations President Kennedy, MLK, Robert Kennedy, Malcolm X, etc are all historically sketchy and debated on the www still today.

Everyone thinks Santa fe really handled it well, and in most aspects they did compared to others; but y'all don't see or hear about all the behind the scenes stuff. Exactly. I live with someone that has to deal with the Santa Fe tragedy every single day of her life. I have to watch what I put on the tv when she is around. And, I am even careful on how I enter a room so not to startle her.

For about 2 weeks I thought my phone was going to melt in my pocket. If you don't give them the time of day, word gets around pretty quick that you're not news worthy. After that, Crickets. Even when I needed to talk to public offical or ask questions I got little to no help. The only help they gave us was to go to a community center and talk with someone that could answer anyone's questions. Social media is the real problem. I had to stop looking at everything.
