Official 2022-2023 LAKE WHITNEY & AQUILLA Hunting & Fishing thread

Hello!! It is that time of year again! Come one and come few (hopefully). I do not need too many people finding my spots!!!

I was asked to get this new thread going for the 2022-2023 season.

This is where you can post news, gossip, sought after information, and some in the past seasons have been helpful and posted LOST ITEMS.

I do want to say this. It is mandatory, that everyone send me a message about any of your secret monster buck spots. I repeat… MANDATORY (side note: this is the benefit to starting the new yearly thread.)

    GPS pins are mandatory.

Can I get a “Sir, yes sir!!”?? …… Ok, I was only kidding.

LETS START THIS SEASON OFF RIGHT!!!

I pray for everyone’s safety, that we and our families stay HEALTHY and that the good LORD blesses your season.
Every moment spent in the woods should be enjoyed, whether you're alone with nature or with closest friends.. You're in good company.

    Just a few friendly reminders,

If you pack it in, pack it out! Nobody likes trash in the woods, especially energy drink cans, water bottles, and corn sacks.

I know we are all grateful for this land and opportunities to hunt and fish it!
Know the boundaries and abide by the rules! They were made for a reason.

Be courteous to our fellow hunters!

Wear your harness or orange when indicated! Safety is paramount.

If the memories you make hunting are more important than the kill then you might be a sportsman! Some of the BEST memories are made even if you don't pull the trigger.

If you can, get those kids in the woods. They don't remember their best day of watching television. My son has told my wife, that I am his favorite parent, because I take him to hunt.

I'd like to end this official kickoff with one of probably many ours, favorite verses...

Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; Genesis 27:3

If y’all ever need anything please reach out! Anyone here is happy to help.

    GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!!!!!!

If they are the ones I showed you, the real ones are safe.

The best to all! And remember, it's not the size of the critter you get that makes it a trophy. It's the memories made in acquiring it that is the true trophy.

The fish are biting and there's hogs to be kill-t. Gotta go!

Best place is somewhere between Brazos Point and just below the dam. [emoji16]

Maybe the 27th when Ender gets back. Place to have it is open, as long as it's not outside. I can't do the afternoon heat.

Pepper, thanks for starting a new thread!

There is no sweet spot anymore.
Just hunt, and hope something show up!
Or just enjoy killing time, of course God’s nature too!

Looking forward to a new season and adventure.

Anyone interested in a group dove hunt on Saturday morning of Sept 3rd? The more people we have in the field, the more it will keep the birds stirred up and flying.

Yall would make 4 total so far. My younger bro will prob accompany me.

Even if the doves don't fly well, we'll all get to meet a few new members and some old ones too, at the parking area afterwards. And maybe, if nothing else, yall will get to see me flop around on the ground in the parking area from the over-heated walk back.

Which area, I might be able to make it?
It’s all depends on work schedule
