I know we all have our favorites. Sometimes we poke fun at each other over their choice of vehicle. I've seen some pretty funny posts, and heard some crazy discussions over why "my truck is better than your truck". I've also seen some crazy fights over the subject. But what most people won't admit it is what they DON'T LIKE about their current or past trucks.
I don't want to know what you like about yours. We all know that we normally love what we drive, or we would sell it and buy something else if we can afford it. I also don't want to know what you have heard, as that may be a bunch of B.S. I am asking about actual EXPERIENCE. What YOU have observed on your own vehicle.
As an example, I'll start. My choice of truck over the past 3 purchases has been a Dodge / Ram.
2003 Quad Cab, 4.7 liter engine, 2wd: Rear Differential Pinion Seal and Gear went out at about 90K.
2007 Quad Cab, 5.7 liter engine, 4wd: Electrical issues in the dash. My backlighting and needle lighting kept going out, and then it would just come back on later without me doing anything. The "Check engine" light would come on, but when tested, nothing was wrong. Reset and it would disappear for months, then come back.
2014 Quad Cab, 5.7 liter engine, 2wd: Recalls. They fix everything, and it wasn't anything that was affecting my driving, but dang... truck has spent several days in the shop getting recall work performed. Most of it was electrical or airbag related. Just got another one the other day regarding the transmission shifting points that I've been complaining about for years. I've also had some "ghosts" in the electrical system. Backup camera went haywire once. Turning off the ignition and turning it back on fixed that issue.
All the best,
Glenn
