Never seen a crappie this black

Steve aka Flinger on here, convinced me to stock some crappie in the lake. Well he caught this one. About 16-17” long. Beautiful fish and never seen one this black

I'm not a guide or better than avg with crappie, but I've been told the same by several same age or older fisherman before. Heard a couple times that the male can affect his color slightly to be darker to show dominance when spawning.
