    Weekend trip in Texas

My wife's bday is coming up the middle of next month. She wants to go away for a couple days and wants to go somewhere "charming and/or quaint". She is wondering if there is somewhere other than the usual suspects such as Fredricksburg, Galveston, etc. She would like to keep the drive to less than 5 hrs(preferrably 3 hrs) from the west side of Houston. So watcha got for her?

And.....I post it in the wrong forum dang it!

          Check out Wimberly, TX

Seems to fit the bill for what you’re looking for

Last year, I took my wife to Tyler. Stayed in a B&B and checked out the rose gardens. Nothing really special, but a nice little get away.

We went to Palo Duro Canyon a few weeks ago. It was pretty amazing.
              Probably outside your travel window.
My wife has been wanting to go to Waco and do that thing.
We also stayed at some yurts in dripping springs when picking up my suppressor from Capital Armory. Nice area.

Headed there next week for the same thing.
I think we timed a cold front just……wrong.

We often go to Boerne. Stay at TheKendall. Walk the town and they have several nice restaurants. Not far from Wimberley and Comfort and other small hill country towns for day trips. My wife loves it.

Does Boerne still have its small town identity or has it been consumed by SA?

I’ll run this one by her. Thanks.

havent stopped going to the lease, but driving from san Antonio through Bourne is like driving through Houston and sugar land

It’s on the short list. We’ve done it a few times before. Probably been at least 10 years since our last visit.
