            Thats cool!

Glen and I saw one in the surf down PINS awhile back. I see them in the dunes and on the beach frequently but never in the surf.

There’s a doe holding her breath in there somewhere!

The buck Doug and I saw was just standing in the surf about knee high. Crazy. I can’t see any reason a deer would be in salt water

I've watched a doe - holding off dropping a fawn - with a bunch of yotes in the dunes watching her, on PINS one day. She ran out into the wade gut and stood there staring at them. I ran them off and some folks setup close by - who watched it as well. Whitetails can hold off dropping fawns but it depends on how long she's had to hold off. Takes about 10 - 12 hours for her to have a fawn plus licking it clean, to cover it from afterbirth scent trails.

Wild horses on Assateague Island, wade out into the surf to clear away from black flies and horse flies - which can become so **** bad over there, it's the only way to get away from them. Even in coastal dune fires and smoke - so bad your health is in consequence - they bite and chase you. Ran into some so bad on Parramore Island VA - we all wanted to run off into the dunes instead of fighting the fires - keeping the Coast Guard Station clear of burn down. It was an isolated island back in the 1980s, boat access only, lightning lit off the grasslands - critters scattered except for those s o b flies

Woulda breathed air from a snorkel - in the surf to get away - kind of bad

X2, and that buck is singing:

“Under the boardwalk, down by the sea, yeah
On a blanket with my baby is where I'll be”
