Prayers for Pistol please

Pistol came in to hunt today. She hunted in the morning, came in for lunch and headed back out at 2:30 for the afternoon hunt. When she got to her tripod, she climbed up and then cocked her crossbow. At that moment, she lost her balance and stepped forward, off the platform. She fell 13'. Fortunately, she was able to call me and I drove over and picked her up. At first she said she was ok but the pain in her back increased dramatically. i took her to the hospital (Baylor Scott and White) in College Station.

Good news - she is going to be fine. Bad news - she broke 2 vertebrae (T12 and L2) and will need a back brace for 3 months. She also has a badly sprained right ankle. She's going to stay in the hospital tonight and possibly tomorrow night. They want to do an MRI to make sure the ligaments are ok. If they are not, she will need surgery.

Dadgummit! Thank God it wasn't worse, but still; that's gonna take a while to heal and certainly mess up her season! Pistol, I will have ample opportunity to overfill my freezer, so if you need some venison this fall, just say the word!
