Yes that is true. Fill me in ,what is the need to move it to an outside source if Robinhood is FDIC insured and you can buy/sell whenever you want/need?

Robinhood is only FDIC insured for the cash you have in your account, not your stocks or crypto. Even worse with robinhood, is that you don't actually own the coins, and cannot transfer them to a wallet as you can with other exchanges.

You can’t connect a Coinbase wallet with uniswap. That’s why you have to open a MetaMask wallet and transfer from there
