Getting rid of gophers or moles.

We have 1 or the other. Sandy loam or so. Ovee an acre mowed. My Beagle found a fresh and went to work so now I have a hole to fill.

What is the trick to get rid of them.

Badgers moved in over here and are going to town on them. Our place is solid sand. Lee county.

Gopher Hawk traps. Easy to set, best catch rate of any trap I've used. We have a lot of gophers here in Tyler, it's a constant battle. Got mine at the local feed store.

I have failed to get my moles.
Only thing that I ever totally failed to catch.

My wife’s grandfather has one of the carbon monoxide injectors that he uses in the hay fields. It’s pretty impressive.

Open the hole up, strike up a road flare, pack the dirt back around the flare then watch for smoke around the yard.

I've used juicy fruit gum also. Same idea. Stick it down in a fresh hole. They can't digest it.

Go to the local animal shelter. Find 3 of the ugliest. Meanest cats. Bring them home. Feed them make them happy to be there for a couple weeks. Then turn them loose!

Matter of Fact. I am going to put the same comment on MikeT thread!!

I use the victor traps. I have heard good things about the gopher hawk though. IDK how many I have trapped on my place, I stopped counting at 100.
