1/2 season gone

we have reached the high point of deer season with the rut at our place (stephens palo pinto county line) happening now. after seeing a ton of really nice young bucks the muay grande has officially avoided me and my Brother in law. We both switched gears and really looking for a past their prime buck or a legitimate cull to use the one 13" or greater tag on. we have killed about 30 hogs in about 20 6+ hours sits. we have killed some jumbos this year. I used the rifle that i have fallen in love with my rem 700 mountain in 280 rem. pigs or deer have not been able to make it 10 ft. with the 150 accubonds. Ended up with a huge 5 point that needed to go. Best part of a hunting family is everyone gets involved. eating cake at 5 am is just a plus. here are some pics.

i put the tape over the end of the barrel. keeps cedar leaves water and junk out of the barrel. i shoot then just retape
