Default Lake Lavon - Deer?

Guys, I know deer exist there. I also know you cant hunt them. However boarding private properties can.

I have never heard of any giants or close. Does anyone have any info, stories, or tales?

I am looking at some land that does border and has plenty of tracks. Just not sure what to expect.

Thanks,

Sean

Everything from 130" to 240" come off of it. Get on a creek that feeds it.

Well known among locals and no one's going to share trail cam pics, secrets and such on a public forum.

Thats all ill say.

Very hard to hunt, feeders arent the avenue to hunt over. Everyone with 5 acres around there has a feeder and hunts HARD

I bet. This place is almost 50 acres. Thinking quality food plots.

50 acres! ought to be able to lease that out to 10 or 12 hunters. let me know if a spot opens up!

is this replacing your Eufaula lake place?

The biggest buck I’ve ever seen was on Lavon Core property. They’re big for a reason!

Yes need to do something with the 1031 funds. But at 75K an acre its hard to swallow. However, giants 20 min from the house. Oklahoma is getting ridiculous on land too. I think this place would have good returns in 10 years.

I've seen a few while duck hunting out there. Nice deer but never laid eyes on the rumored giants. The reason they outlawed hog hunting on Lavon during deer season was to empower green jeans to be able to catch someone claiming to hog hunt while holding rattling antlers...

Drive by spillway and flood plain nearly everyday.

North end of lake Corp land as well - North West of Farmersville.

Seen a lot of deer through the years.

Some great deer around that lake.

Forgot to add, seems like a couple of months ago I saw where there was a fairly good sized piece of property listed South of Princeton, back towards the lake, if that is an option for you. Dont know whether still available.

I have family that are one if not the largest farm producers in and around Nevada. I have seen enough pics just to say there are NO DEER in Collin or Rockwall counties.

Appreciate the replies. We walked it today and saw plenty of signs. I would expect it be delicate and challenging hunt. I'm down with that. This would also be our homestead so I have time.

Going back tomorrow to study some more. I have a pic of deer killed next door couple years ago. But I can't share it. Very nice deer.

We were seeing deer in the bottoms back in the '70s. Not many but some. Here in the last 10 or so years, I've seen some of the giants while I was squirrel hunting. They are there.

I saw a 140-150 roadkill buck hit by car near Lucas last year. There are deer and there are some big ones.

Here's that 240 shot near Lavon. Shot by a guy named Chad Jones...he posts all over social media about it.

Benefits? Let's visit soon. Have about 16 acres of tilled grounds. Has hay now. Plan is all about the deer.

I'm no farmer..like to have corn and milo. Not sure that grows here. The guy who has lease is supposed yo call me.

Okay..ready for this? The current guys pay $1500 year to lease it. **** they will be very sad soon. If your on here reach out.
