Saw on Facebook there has been a report of a active shooter at Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Tx

Has anybody heard anything about this? I have brought the kids there 3 years in a row in February if it is true this is terrifying and terrible.

The article that I read said there was some kind of incident at about 8 PM. The police were investigating to see if it was true.

I tend to think that if this was an actual shooter then almost 3 hours later we would know about it. Basically the article that I saw was “breaking news” of a “possible” active shooter.

I want to go out on a limb here and say that I had this been true, especially on Christmas, it would be headline news already.

Last thing I saw they were clearing the place and had turned up nothing....

At some big media outlets like the metroplex, they run new stories off of just radio calls without knowing anything.

Got to becl first, even if baseless. It gets plenty of clicks....

Why would a guest send CBS 11 a screenshot of the possibility of a active shooter inside the building?
This seems like a horrific joke

The news chasers (professional and amateur) listen to scanners. The local media in most places has a tip line to send in “breaking” stories where you can message or call in a tip. Some media stations (at least two locally for my area) have shooters or citizens that film some news story and sell it to the station for $50 or so. I have seen them more than hired reporters.

Many times when it says “the police are”, it is not coming in from the police.

Then you have the agency that calls the media and reports something prior to even getting a unit on scene.

What really sucks is the place is posted 30.06 & 30.07 so the people that actually comply are literally sitting ducks. So all they can do is cower in their room as instructed.
