I’ve been after this guy for a while. He was pretty easily identified because he was missing an ear on the right side. Numerous times I’ve watched him circle whatever setup I was in and come in downwind or cross my trail. Deer could come in the same direction and not notice a thing, but this guy would be gone in an instant. Last night he came in directly upwind and didn’t bother circling at all. He was with another smaller boar and from the sounds prior to showing up he was in a but kicking mood. The fought and squealed for 10 minutes prior to making an appearance.

Shot was about 22 yards and the RamCat took a nice notch out of his hide and heart. Easiest tracking I’ve ever done with the arterial spray on the ground and trees. Even still he went about 70 yards. Northeast Texas about 200 yards off the Sulphur River in Red River County.

Nice! Bet that was satisfying.

I've got a big boy that does the same thing at one of my tripods. He will circle and circle, all the while chomping his teeth. Will eventually catch him slipping!

Ear is missing because he had been caught. Was he barred? If he wasn’t recently caught and barred for a year or more he will probably be good tablefare as well

Interestingly enough he wasn’t cut. I thought the same thing as I’ve often hunted with dogs.

I figured he would be. I didn’t see a scar and he definitely had the jewels so I dunno. Unless a catch dog got ahold of him and it ripped off.

4.0. Need to change the mount around a little. Mounted directly to a section of picatinny rail bolted to riser. Picks up a little more vibration than the mount I had at stabilizer.
